Cayman Cycling hosted a thrilling weekend of racing at the 2025 National Cycling Championships on June 28–29, showcasing the island’s top talent in both the Time Trial and Road Race disciplines. Held on the scenic yet demanding East End Circuit, the event crowned new national champions across four age divisions: Juniors, Masters, Super Masters, and Elite Men.

Day 1: Time Trial – June 28

Riders took on the 31K East end Circuit, with strong coastal winds and little shelter demanding precise pacing and aerodynamic discipline. Known as the “race of truth,” the Time Trial produced standout individual performances.

Time Trial National Champions:

Juniors: Ryan Thompson
Masters: Darrell Evans Jr.
Super Masters: Chris Smith
Elite Men: Chris Bodden

Day 2: Road Race – June 29

Sunday’s road race saw athletes compete over multiple laps of the 31km circuit beginning at Clifton Hunter and looping through East End, Queen’s Highway, and Frank Sound Road. Tactics, endurance, and nerves were tested to the limit.

An early crash in the Elite Men’s race reshuffled the pack — but also set the stage for a spectacular solo performance. Michael Testori launched an attack shortly after the incident and remarkably stayed away for 80+km, riding alone to claim the Elite Men’s National Road Race title.

Meanwhile, other categories were tightly contested, with sprint finishes determining several podiums in a clear reflection of the rising level of local competition.

Road Race National Champions:

Juniors: Ryan Thompson
Masters: Jeremy Solomon
Super Masters: John Thompson
Elite Men: Michael Testori
