An exciting weekend of racing has concluded for Cayman’s national athlete, Kevin Connolly, at the 2023 Caribbean Cycling Championships in Guadeloupe.

Kevin competed in both the road race and time trial events, representing our country with dedication and passion on the international stage. In the TT event, Kevin displayed incredible strength and endurance, pushing his limits on an extremely tough and technical course. In the road race, his day was cut-short when a rider crashed in front of him on a decent, taking Kevin down with him – his injuries and damage to the bike, a bit too much to be able to continue.

As always, these international opportunities would not be possible without the support of others.  Both Cayman cycling representatives that accompanied the team, Wayne Kirkconnell (Team Manager) and Daniel Cummings (Technical Director) worked tireless before and during the event to ensure it’s success.
