Can I choose which category I ride in?

Riders will be required to ride in the category according to their age.  For example, a rider over 40 years old, cannot elect to ride in the Elite Men’s (23-39 years) category. Identification will be required on race day to confirm category selection.

Where will the events be held?

Both the Road Race & ITT Championships will utilise the well-known East End Circuit – a popular route for recreational and elite cyclists. The route will begin at Clifton Hunter High School, continue towards East End, then down the back straight of Queen’s Highway and return home southward on Frank Sound Road.

What are the course distances?

The National ITT Championship course will be 1 lap  (31km) of the circuit for all categories, with athletes setting off at predetermined intervals. The Road Race Championship will feature a mass start for the athletes, with staggered distances for the various categories. Women & Juniors will ride 2 laps (62km), Masters will race for 3 laps (93km), and the U23 & Elite Men will battle it out for 4 laps (124km).

Can anyone ride in the National Championships?

Yes – Athletes must holder a Cayman Cycling Racing membership or purchase a 1-day Racing License. However, to be crowned national champion, athletes must be either naturalised, born Caymanians or possess Caymanian Status. Documentation will be required on race day in the form of a Caymanian Passport, Caymanian Status certificate or Caymanian Status stamp in a passport.

Is there a cost?

No – There is no entry fee for the National Championships

Where can I register?

Registration for the event will be online only via the form below. No race day registration will be available.

What are the prizes?

At each event, awards will be presented for first, second and third place in each category. Additionally, the highest placed Caymanian finisher will earn the National Champion jersey – a uniquely styled, Cayman Islands edition, of a globally-recognised symbol of cycling success.
